If you think you need a referral to a specialist, please request an appointment to discuss this with a clinician.
You can do this by calling 01403 330266 or submitting an eConsult.
If you need to be referred to a specialist, a clinician will complete a referral form or write a referral letter.
We aim to send all urgent referrals within 1 day and all routine referrals within 7 days. This applies to both NHS and private referrals.
NHS referrals
If you need to be referred to a community service our secretarial team will send the form or letter directly to the service.
Otherwise, we will send the form or letter to the NHS Sussex Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex Referral Support Service through the e-Referral Service. We will send you a letter including your Unique Reference Booking Number (URBN) and all other details of how to manage your referral. The Referral Support Service will call you to discuss where you would like to be seen.
Private referrals
If you want to be referred to a private service provider, one of our secretaries will send you the referral letter from your GP. You can then arrange to be seen by a provider of your choice.
If you have any questions about the status of your referral, please contact the organisation you have been referred to.
If your symptoms worsen and you think you need to be seen by a specialist more urgently, please request an appointment to discuss this with your GP. You can do this by calling 01403 330266 or submitting an eConsult.
