Friends of Park Surgery

The Friends of Park Surgery (FOPS) serves a dual purpose:-

  1. We act as the Committee for the Patient Participation Group for the Park Surgery Practice and represent the interests of the  patients as a group concerning the running of the practice. Every patient registered with the Practice is automatically a member of the Patient Participation Group. On the following pages you will find our Newsletters and the results of previous patient surveys.
  2. As a registered charity, we raise funds to help provide equipment and services in support of the patients. Since 2006 over £50,000 has been raised. Purchases include ECG machines, chairs for waiting room, pulse oximeter, defibrilator, BP machines, and a dermascope.

In order for us to share information with you, you will need to register your interest with FOPS separately from the Practice. Please contact us by e-mail at or ask at Reception and they will pass your details to us.

About Patient Participation Groups

Every GP Practice in England and Wales has to have a Patient Participation Group (PPG).

The NHS has produced this leaflet seen below explaining Patient Participation Group.

For Park Surgery, our Patient Participation Group is called: Friends of Park Surgery.

To support our charitable activities, we ask that members make a regular donation to our fund raising activity.

Whilst there is no minimum, we hope members will feel able to set up a Standing Order for £10 once a year.

We can provide a Standing Order Mandate to facilitate payments. Cash or cheque is equally welcome.

Gift Aid

It is possible for us to make a Gift Aid claim from HM Revenue and Customs in respect of your donation, provided you are a UK Tax Payer.

This increases every pound you donate by 25p. If you are happy to donate with Gift Aid we will supply a Gift Aid Form or you to complete.

100 Club

The Friends also has a 100 Club to help raise funds. Over the last 11 years, the 100 Club has raised over £5,000 to support the work of FOPS, and has helped the Friends purchase equipment for the Surgery.

By participating in the 100 Club you will have a chance of winning £250 in each quarterly draw. The 100 Club is open to all members of the Friends, with an annual subscription of £20. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Get Involved

We do hope you would like to join FOPS and our 100 Club - it is easy to join. Please contact us by e-mail at .

The group would also like to contact patients on occasion by email and/or text so that they can obtain the views of the widest group of patients possible. We would like to obtain your email address and mobile phone number to do this. Please complete the Patient Contact Form  by clicking on the image oppodite to provide your consent for this.

New Data Protection Regulations

In order to comply with new data protection regulation being introduced in 2018, we need explicit consent to contact members. The following Privacy Statement sets out our approach to keeping your information private. FOPS is not allowed to use information from your patient record with the Practice.

Privacy Statement

The Friends of Park Surgery take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your membership and to provide information to you have agreed to receive from us. You will need to consent to being contacted.

Practice Survey Results 2019

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to answer questions on our 2019 practice survey. With over 500 responses, we have a lot to consider regarding any changes that need to be made over the coming years, and what we know not to change! We’ve collated the results in a visual format for you to download below:
